  • Peregrine Pines FamCamp - This campground offers an exclusive experience for Active Duty military personnel and other eligible Department of Defense members. Nestled within the picturesque U.S. Air Force Academy, it features 105 wooden sites equipped with electrical, water, and sewage hook-ups, along with 10 tent sites and bathhouses with showers. Accessible activities abound, including fishing, biking, hiking, and more within Academy grounds. Cadets can reserve spots for family a year before graduation, and sponsored guests are also welcome. Operating year-round with some restrictions during peak season (April 1st to October 31st), reservations are required and can be made up to 90 days in advance for Active Duty and other eligible users.   • Barr Camp - Experience the unique charm of camping at Barr Camp atop Pikes Peak. It's like backpacking with added comforts, requiring a challenging 6.5 miles hike up Barr Trail, gaining 3,800 elevation. Reservations include a hot breakfast, with the option for a dinner prepared by camp caretakers. Accommodations feature mattresses in the main cabin, bunkhouse, or lean-to shelters.   • Crags Campground - Discover the Crags Campground on the west side of Pikes Peak, a beloved trail head and hiking hub. With serene surroundings and 17 sites suitable for tents, trailers, and small RVs, it's an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy the scenic trails like the Crags Trail and Devil's Playground Trail, offering stunning views and a babbling creek. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, fire pits, and picnic tables.   • Mueller State Park - This park offers expansive views across its 5,000 acre terrain on Pikes Peak's west side. The park features three camping areas with a total of 393 campsites, many equipped with electrical hook-ups and sheltered picnic tables. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, water faucets, and a marina, making it an ideal year-round destination for outdoor recreation. Reservations are required for camping.   • Eleven Mile Reservoir - This fishing paradise offers prime catches like trout, salmon, and pike, ideal for shore, boat or ice fishing. The South Platte River below the dam is a renowned fishery, while the area's consistent winds make it perfect for sailing and windsurfing. With 325 campsites spread across nine campgrounds, including Rocky Ridge with electrical hook-ups and lakeside spots in North Shore, camping options abound.
